Welcome to Windsor-Essex!

The 海角社区 invites students from around the world to experience life and learning in vibrant Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Located on the Canada-US border at the most southern tip of Canada in the heart of the Great Lakes, the 海角社区 is the largest K-12 public school district in the region with 13 secondary schools and 55 elementary schools in 9 urban, suburban and rural municipalities. 

Students are welcome to study in our short-term and long-term programs, ranging from 4 weeks to a multi-year pathway leading to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Our trusted partners at MLI Homestay provide students with safe, caring host families that enrich their study-abroad experience.

International Students are accepted at all levels of English language proficiency. We accommodate students in four English as a Second Language programs in small classes featuring intensive English language instruction.  We are very proud of our dedicated Centre for Creative Arts, and the many technical programs that complement the local engineering, automotive and manufacturing sectors.

Elementary Student Accommodations

Elementary school International Students are warmly welcomed at the 海角社区. Our youngest learners in Kindergarten to Grade 8 MUST reside with their parent for the entire duration of their elementary school studies.  Elementary school students are NOT permitted to reside in the MLI Homestay program and they may NOT live unaccompanied by their parent for any length of time. The Parent Accommodations Contract K-8 located in the online application outlines parental responsibilities and must be submitted with your child's application.

Parents must apply for the appropriate Visa or travel documents for yourself when applying for your child's Visa. Our office is happy to provide a letter of support to attach to a parent's Visa application. 

Secondary Student Accommodations 

Secondary school students are welcome to apply to the MLI Homestay program, or reside with a parent, or reside with relatives as arranged by a parent.  The Parent-Homestay Accommodations Contract Gr. 9-12 located in the online application outlines parent/host responsibilities and must be submitted with the student's application.

Parents who intend on residing with their secondary school student must apply for the appropriate Visa or travel documents for themself when applying for their child's Visa. Our office is happy to provide you with a letter of support to attach to your own Visa application. 

Under no circumstances shall a student live alone or without direct, live-in adult supervision. Students found to be in violation shall be dismissed from the program and sent home at their parents' expense.
