As per the recent Ontario announcement, all Grade 9 and 10 students are now set to embark on a journey of technological education, enriching their Ontario Secondary School Diplomas.
Our inaugural course, TGJ 1O: Exploring Communications Technology, sets the foundation for this exciting endeavor. In this course, students delve into the dynamic realm of communications technology, gaining practical skills and insights into the tools that shape our interconnected world.

Course Offerings:
Grade 9/10
TGJ1O/TGJ2O: Exploring Communications Technology
- This exploratory course introduces students to concepts and skills in communications technology, which encompasses television/video and movie production, radio and audio production, print and graphic communications, photography, and interactive new media and animation.
- Students will develop an awareness of related environmental and societal issues, and will begin to explore secondary and postsecondary pathways leading to careers in the field.
TAS2O: Exploring Communications Technology

This hands-on course enables students to apply the engineering design process and further develop technological knowledge and skills introduced in earlier grades. Students will design and safely create prototypes, products, and services using tools, materials, and resources from a variety of skilled trades and emerging industries. Through practical design challenges addressing real-life problems, students will apply concepts such as quality control, precision, and health and safety standards.
- Students will also explore opportunities in job skills programs, along with secondary and postsecondary pathways related to technology and the skilled trades. These pathways can lead to a wide range of careers in fields such as construction, transportation, manufacturing, and industrial technology.
